ALANG

Language Exchange Mobile App

Before I came to Canada to study graphic design, I was looking for some people to exchange languages to practice my target language – English. There were already some websites and applications for language exchange but I was not satisfied with them. I couldn’t get notifications if I got messages from partners or they asked me to pay if I wanted to apply the filters to find the right partners. Simply, some of them were poorly designed. So I created the language exchange mobile application that helps people to find partners for free and also includes every features people would love to use such as a partner filter system or voice chat.

Process Work

Wireframes

I made the wireframes including every features that users would need when finding partners, chatting with partners, and setting up profiles. I made the compact navigation bar in which users can find anything they need and put rounded rectangular for icons and buttons which is a very up-to-date UI design.

Mood Board

I referred to some application design that offers human-centered service. I also looked up some filter design which is one of the most important features in the ALang app. I chose an emerald colour with vibrant gradients and streamlined design elements that are new UI design trends.

Lessons

I tried to put only a few core features since many applications have redundant pages that make users lost in the app. while making screens, I learned how to make simple and straight forward interface but still up-to-date UI design.
